This Rok is the second Koreatown room, which gives the neighborhood two addresses pouring the same ultra-premium Uji ceremonial matcha within a short distance of each other. The strong-profile matcha is the whole proposition. It comes forward and stays grassy where a lot of places soften it, and the dessert-style drinks are built on top of that base. Koreatown holds more of the cafes on this site than any other neighborhood, and having two Roks in it means you are rarely far from a serious cup. We would use whichever is closer and treat the choice as a coin toss, because the matcha is identical and both rooms are worth the visit.
