The Scoop
The Broadway shop is where Goodboybob started in 2017, and it remains the flagship of a roasting company that now reaches from Manhattan Beach to Hudson, New York. Doors open at 7 am and close at 5 pm every day. The Volcanic Matcha is how we would meet this place, since it shows what the bar is willing to do: iced matcha latte, velvety vanilla bean cream on top, volcanic black salt over that. The matcha is stone-ground and sourced from Spirit Tea in Chicago. The Guava Lava Matcha comes hot or iced on a house-made guava and marzipan syrup, with almonds in the syrup worth knowing about. Broadway sits an easy walk from the Santa Monica blocks that fill up midmorning, so the 7 am open is the one to use.
