The Scoop
The Koreatown Damo opened in November 2022 on West 8th and is the original, the room where the Matcha Einspanner under its cloud foam became the drink people come for. It stays the quieter of the two, which makes it our pick for an afternoon with a book. Waffles with Asian flavors worked through them and French pastries from Brown Bag Cookies fill the counter. Koreatown holds more of the addresses on this site than any other neighborhood, and Damo is among the calmest of them. We would use it as the sit-down stop in a longer Koreatown crawl.
