The Scoop
The Beverly Grove room puts the diner idea on one of the more photographed blocks in the city, just off Melrose on North Alfred. It carries the same board as Studio City: matcha with soda, matcha with lemonade, matcha with orange juice, the highball, the cream soda, and cloud creams in vanilla or strawberry. Pure matcha and the matcha cortado are there for anybody who came for the tea itself. The retail shelf is here too, running the classic line, the organic, the rare and the hojicha in every tin size, so a visit can end with a tin under your arm. We rate this one for the walk afterwards, which is the real reason to pick North Alfred over Ventura Boulevard on a good afternoon.
