Blueys Kitchen

Blueys opened its Mar Vista kitchen on Venice Boulevard in 2022, the second of the two, with a brief of affordable meals and locally sourced produce for the westside. It is the address that has since added dinner service alongside the daytime menu. The Matcha Tonic here is the drink we would cross town for. Mar Vista builds it on Nekohama matcha with tonic water, fresh squeezed lime juice, simple syrup, citrus oils and orange peel, and it is a genuinely different drink from the Santa Monica version. The Lavender Matcha Latte belongs to this address alone, served hot with lavender syrup and lavender flowers. The rest of the board is shared: the unsweetened organic ceremonial grade Matcha Latte, the Matcha Americano on the rocks or hot, and the Matcha Horchata Latte finished with cinnamon. Venice Boulevard through Mar Vista is an easy stretch to park on, which makes this the simpler of the two to reach by car.
