The Scoop
This is where Alfred started. Josh Akhtarzad opened it in January 2013 in an alley off Melrose Place, named it after Bruce Wayne's butler, and hung the "But First, Coffee" line the company went on to register as a trademark. The alley setting is still what we like best about it, tucked back from the street among the Melrose Place boutiques. It keeps the longest hours in the group, 6:30 am to 8 pm every day, so it works for a matcha before work and another one after. This is the address the LAX cafe still carries on its sign, and the one every other Alfred room is a variation on.
